Director

David Berthold

David Berthold is one of Australia's most prominent theatre directors and cultural leaders. As a theatre director, he has directed for most of Australia's major theatre companies, as well as in London's West End and Berlin. He is currently Artistic Director in Residence at NIDA. He was Artistic Director of the international arts festival Brisbane Festival (2015-19) – Queensland’s highest attended event – Artistic Director and CEO of La Boite Theatre Company (2008-14), Artistic Director and CEO of Griffin Theatre Company (2003-2006) and Artistic Director and CEO of Australian Theatre for Young People (1999-2003). He was also Associate Director of Sydney Theatre Company. He sits on the Board of Australian Plays Transform (APT), is a Trustee of the Rodney Seaborn Playwrights Award, a member of the NSW Government's Theatre and Musical Theatre Arts Advisory Board, and Chairs the Judging Panel of the Nick Enright Prize for Playwriting (NSW Premier’s Literary Awards).

Bryce Hallett

Bryce Hallett is a respected journalist and writer based in Sydney. He is a former Arts Editor and arts writer at the Sydney Morning Herald (1998-2012). He was the Herald's chief theatre critic for more than a decade and was arts writer at The Australian from 1990 to 1998. He has written extensively about arts politics, theatre, opera, musical theatre and the visual arts.

In 2010, Bryce co-wrote the musical play Freeway - The Chet Baker Journey, performed by singer-actor Tim Draxl. The show has been performed at the Sydney Opera House, Hayes Theatre Co, the Melbourne International Arts Festival and Auckland Live. In 2014, Bryce wrote the acclaimed rock drama Rolling Thunder Vietnam. The show has had two national tours and returns in 2023.

Most recently, Bryce conceived and wrote the cabaret show, Love is a Drag, with Tim Draxl, premiering in July 2019 at the inaugural Sydney Cabaret Festival. Bryce is the author of Baroque Passion – Australian Brandenburg Orchestra 30 Years, a book capturing the pioneering spirit and personality of one of Australia’s great cultural success stories.

Currently, Bryce is adapting a novella to the stage and writing for ACMN – Australia’s leading arts and entertainment marketing company.

Rebecca Blake

In 1988 Rebecca Blake established Blake Entertainment, a specialist arts marketing and creative services company. The dynamic company has created national campaigns for impresarios and producers in musical theatre and live concerts, notably John Farnham and tours by INXS, Prince and The Rolling Stones.

Rebecca has been a key marketing force in the performing arts industry and has executed world-class campaigns for many shows, including Hot Shoe Shuffle, the original The Boy From Oz, the Australian arena tour starring Hugh Jackman, and Australian premiere seasons of The Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Cabaret and Dusty The Musical.

In 2012, Rebecca was co-producer of Freeway: The Chet Baker Journey, starring Tim Draxl, at the Sydney Opera House and the Melbourne International Arts Festival. In 2014 Rebecca produced the world premiere and national tour of Rolling Thunder Vietnam – Songs That Defined a Generation and a second national tour in 2016.
